4 • A generous donation from the Vincent and Lily Woo Foundation for the establishment of the “VincentV.C.WooChineseMedicineClinical Research Institute”, which aims to advance clinical research in Chinesemedicine and increase the influence of Chinese medicine in the international arena; • A big gift from the Philip K.H. Wong Foundation in support of the establishment of an endowed professorship in Chinese Medicine that focuses on geriatrics research; • Kind support from Mrs. Virginia Yim Tsui Yuk Shan, MH, Director of S.A.S. Electric Company Limited, for the “Extended Study Programme in the Greater Bay Area”, which enhances students’ competitiveness by sponsoring them to participate in internships and exchange activities; • Kinth Technology (Hong Kong) Limited made a generous donation for the Department of Mathematics to conduct research on Marine Analytics: Theory, Algorithms and Applications; • A generous benefaction from Mr. Cheng Chak Kuen for the establishment of the “Cheng Chak Kuen Chinese Medicine Clinical Research Fund” to support the School of Chinese Medicine’s clinical research on long COVID; • A warm-hearted bequest from the late HKBU alumnus Mr. Zih Chi Wen by the Zih family for the establishment of the “Zih Chi Wen Memorial Scholarship”, which recognises students with outstanding academic and non-academic performances; • The HKBU ‧ Ashworth Golf Day 2023 – HKBUGolf 20th Anniversary Charity Cup, was held to raise funds for the University’s strategic development and to celebrate its 20th anniversary. This signature event has fostered connections and fundraising for the University over the years. Funds are dedicated to fulfilling our educational duty The AI tool ChatGPT was a hot issue last year. Given that data analytics and artificial intelligence are among HKBU’s selected research clusters, we tried to make use of HKBU ChatGPT to understand why people are willing to give to a university. Six reasons were found. They are: 1. To promote education: Donations can help a university provide quality education; 2. To create opportunities: Scholarships and bursaries can create opportunities for needy students to receive higher education; 3. To enhance facilities and increase resources: Donations can enhance a university’s facilities and enrich students’ learning experiences; • 吳文政王月娥基金會慷慨捐資支持成立 「吳文政中醫藥臨床研究所」,以推動 中醫藥臨床研究及提升中醫藥的國際 地位; • 黃乾亨基金慷慨捐資,協助浸大設立專 注老年醫學研究的中醫藥冠名教授席; • 時捷電氣有限公司董事嚴徐玉珊女士, MH 慷慨捐贈支持「大灣區延伸學習計 劃」,資助學生參與大灣區實習或交流活 動,增強學生的競爭力; • 勤思科技有公司慷慨捐資支持數學系一 項有關海洋分析之理論、演算法及應用 的研究項目; • 鄭澤權院士慷慨捐資成立中醫藥臨床研 究基金,支持中醫藥學院進行長新冠之 臨床研究; • 席氏家族以已故浸大校友席啟文先生的 遺贈成立「席啟文紀念獎學金」,獎勵 成績優異及課外活動表現卓越的學生; • 大學舉行香港浸會大學 ‧ 雅獅威高爾夫球 日 2023 ─浸大高球二十周年慈善盃,為 大學策略發展籌款,並誌慶此聯繫各界友 好和籌款之盛事踏入 20 周年。 基金款項用得其所 協助實現教育使命 過去一年,人工智能聊天機械人 ChatGPT 大行其道,而浸大的重點研究領域之中亦涵 蓋數據分析與人工智能,我們利用浸大的 ChatGPT 了解外界樂於捐款予一間大學的 原因,所歸納的理由有以下六個: 1. 推進教育:捐款有助於大學提供優質教 育使命; 2. 創造機會:獎學金及助學金能為有需要 的學生創造機會,接受高等教育; 3. 改善設施和資源:捐款可用於優化及提 升設施,充實學生的學習體驗;
