3 Chairman’s Report 主席報告 New members continue to join the Foundation Looking back on the course of the Foundation’s development, it is apparent that a key factor in its success has been the readiness of our existing members to invite their families, friends and other acquaintances to join us. Moreover, in recent years many of the newly joined members have been HKBU staff. These dedicated colleagues working in different faculties and departments are keenly aware of the needs of the HKBU community. Many of them have also rendered their continued support in different capacities for HKBU after departure by becoming members of the HKBU Foundation. Shining fundraising results As at the end of December 2023, the membership of the HKBU Foundation has grown 608%, from 131 at its inception in 2009 to 928, while the total number of donors has increased to 18,325. The amount raised during this period is also highly impressive – between 2009 and 31 December 2023, HKBU has secured over HK$4,863 million, comprising HK$3,960 million in donations and HK$903 million in pledges. These resources have provided a solid bedrock for the University in its endeavours to stay at the forefront of the scholarly world. From July 2022 to December 2023, a number of sizeable donations were received in support of a variety of innovative projects that will bring a fresh look to HKBU as well as to Hong Kong society. They include: • Staunch support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust for the launch of a six-year project entitled “JC Project MuSE”, which aims to foster the whole person development of underprivileged children through sports and music education; • A hefty donation from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust in support of the “Jockey Club SMART Family-Link Project”, conducted by HKBU’s Department of Social Work in collaboration with The University of Hong Kong. This project promotes the digital transformation of family services and helps the Integrated Family Service Centres to adopt an innovative, blended mode of service to better support families in need; 基金持續增添新成員 回顧香港浸會大學基金的發展歷程，倚仗  基金各成員不斷廣邀親友加入，以致基金這 個大家庭的規模日益壯大。近年來，新增的 成員中，不少是校內的教職員，這些在浸 大不同崗位上竭心盡力的同事，得悉校內社 群的需要，離職後繼續以另一身份—香港  浸會大學基金成員來支持浸大。 持續錄得亮麗的籌款佳績 截至 2023 年 12 月底，基金會員人數由成立 時的 131 人遞增至 928 人，增幅達 608% 。而  捐款人總數亦增長至 18,325 人。而捐款數 目方面，基金由 2009 年成立至 2023 年 12 月  3 1 日止，歷年累積籌得的捐款超過港幣  48 億 6 千 3 百萬元，當中包括港幣 39 億 6 千萬 元捐款及港幣 9 億零 3 百萬元認捐，再一次  取得驕人的成績。這些豐富的財政資源，  為浸大持續走在學術前沿，奠定穩固的  基礎。而在 2022 年 7 月至 2023 年 12 月底，  大學獲得多宗大額捐款，推動的創意項目， 定必為浸大及香港社會帶來一番新氣象，  當中包括： • 香港賽馬會慈善信託基金的慷慨捐助，推 行為期六年的「賽馬會樂動人生計劃」，為 基層兒童提供音樂和運動教育，促進他們 全人發展； • 香港賽馬會慈善信託基金的慷慨捐助，  支持浸大社會工作系與香港大學合作，  推行「賽馬會智家樂計劃」，推動家庭服 務數碼化，協助綜合家庭服務中心發展  創新的混合服務模式，為有需要的家庭  提供更適切的支援； launched by HKBU have not only benefited students but also extended the boundaries of knowledge for society as a whole. It is always encouraging to see that the Foundation’s hard work has led to many impactful, exceptional achievements. This year, in celebration of the Foundation’s 15th anniversary, a series of short videos and promotions will be launched to showcase the multiple impacts we have had on society over the years. 實在令人鼓舞。因此，我們將於今年舉 辦連串活動誌慶，並透過一系列的短片 及宣傳，讓外界了解基金捐獻所帶來的  影響。
