50 The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Dr. Cheung Huen Cheong Thomas, MH, FCII, Founder of Thomas H.C. Cheung Foundation Limited and Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation, on 30 August 2023 at the age of 94. Serving as Chairman of The Pacific Insurance Co., Ltd. and The Pacific Life Assurance Co., Ltd., Dr. Cheung was highly regarded in the insurance industry in Hong Kong. Dr. Cheung was also a dedicated philanthropist who contributed significantly to the development of education in Hong Kong and Mainland China through his Foundation. Since 2004, he made generous donations in support of HKBU’s Chinese medicine research and student development. He will always be remembered for his distinguished contributions to education in Hong Kong and his earnest support for the University’s development. 香港浸會大學基金榮譽主席張煊昌基金有限公司創辦人張煊昌博士, MH , FCII 於 2023 年 8 月 30 日辭世,享年 94 歲,基金同 仁深表哀悼。 張煊昌博士為香港保險業翹楚,為太平洋保險有限公司和太平洋人壽保險有限公司主席。張博士熱心推動慈善工作,透過張 煊昌基金有限公司支持本地及內地的教育發展。他對浸大亦關愛有加,自 2004 年起慷慨捐資支持浸大中醫藥研究及學生發 展。他對香港教育及浸大發展的熱心支持,我們定必銘記於心。 Dr. Cheung Huen Cheong Thomas, MH, FCII 張煊昌博士, MH , FCII The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Mr. Cheng Sing Yip, Honorary University Fellow (2018) and Senior Member of the HKBU Foundation, on 29 August 2023 at the age of 79. While Mr. Cheng tirelessly devoted his life to education and the nurturing of talents for Hong Kong, he also maintained a deep, unswerving friendship with HKBU. Not only did he generously support the University’s development, he also served as a member of the Council of the then Hong Kong Baptist College, a member of the Council and the Court of HKBU, and Chairman of the Estates Management Committee under the HKBU Council, all in a time span of over 20 years. Mr. Cheng’s spectacular beneficence extended to the social service sector, where he dedicated himself to helping the underprivileged. He will always be remembered for his outstanding contributions to the University and Hong Kong. 香港浸會大學 2018 年榮譽院士及香港浸會大學基金資深會員鄭成業院士於 2023 年 8 月 29 日辭世,享年 79 歲,基金同仁深表  哀悼。 鄭院士畢生奉獻教育事業,為香港作育英才,建樹良多。他與本校更是淵源深厚, 20 多年來不僅慷慨資助大學發展,  還出任校務議會、校董會及諮議會成員,以及物業管理委員會主席等職務。在社會服務方面,鄭院士致力於服務弱勢社群, 貢獻卓著。大學同仁定必銘記他對浸大以至香港的寶貴貢獻。 Mr. Cheng Sing Yip 鄭成業院士 The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Ms. Helen Wang, Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation, on 9 June 2023. She was 92 years old. Ms. Wang’s beloved husband, the late Professor Timothy Yu, was Founding Head of the Department of Communication at the then Hong Kong Baptist College (currently the School of Communication at HKBU). He contributed tremendously to HKBU’s communication education and nurtured generations of professional communication talent. To commemorate Professor Yu’s contributions to the University, Ms. Wangmade generous donations in 2015 and 2019 designated for the establishment of the Timothy Yu Communication Education Fund in support of the long-term development of the School. She will always be remembered for her zealous support for the University. 香港浸會大學基金榮譽主席余王榮芬女士於 2023 年 6 月 9 日安息主懷,享年92歲,基金同仁深表哀悼。 余王榮芬女士之夫婿為浸大傳理學院前身傳理學系已故創系主任余也魯教授,他畢生樂育英才,桃李滿門。為紀念余教授對  大學的重大貢獻,余夫人於 2015 年及 2019 年慷慨捐資設立「余也魯傳理教育基金」,以支持傳理學院的長遠發展。大學同仁  亦必銘記她對浸大的熱心支持。 Ms. Helen Wang 余王榮芬女士
