51 In Memoriam 永遠懷念 The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Dr. Henry Fong Yun Wah, GBS, MBE, JP, Honorary Doctor of Business Administration (1994) of HKBU and Honorary Trustee of the Foundation, on 6 January 2022. He was 98 years old. A staunch and much-valued supporter of HKBU, Dr. Fong made generous contributions to the University through the Fong Shu Fook Tong Foundation and the Fong’s Family Foundation from the 1980s onwards. The contributions were for the construction of the Fong Shu Chuen Library and the David C. Lam Building, as well as the University Foundation Fund. Dr. Fong also offered significant support to HKBU’s School of Chinese Medicine, sponsoring a wide array of meaningful initiatives over the years. These included a donation pledge in 2021 to support the University’s strategic development of Chinese medicine and its preparatory work for the operation of Hong Kong’s first-ever Chinese Medicine Hospital. Dr. Fong will always be remembered for his zealous support and tremendous contributions to the University’s development. In Memoriam 永遠懷念 The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Dr. the Hon. Chiang Chen, GBM, OBE, Senior Member of the HKBU Foundation, on 13 March 2022. He was 100 years old. Dr. Chiang, Founder of the Chiang Chen Industrial Charity Foundation (CCICF) and Chen Hsong Holdings Limited, a prominent leader in the plastic machinery industry, established the CCICF in 1990 with a view to supporting industrial development in Mainland China and Hong Kong. Since then, he was devoted to promoting education for talent and the development of industrial leaders. Partnering with many prestigious universities around the world, the CCICF has so far allocated approximately HK$400 million in funding for various causes and nurtured over 60,000 talent in industrial technology and management for the country. In 2021, the University received a generous donation from the CCICF to establish a scholarship that aims at encouraging young people to pursue academic excellence and to actively participate in the future development of industrial technologies in Hong Kong. Dr. Chiang will always be remembered for his distinguished contributions to Mainland China, Hong Kong as well as to the University. 香港浸會大學 1994 年榮譽工商管理學 博士兼香港浸會大學基金永遠榮譽董事 方潤華博士, GBS , MBE , JP 於 2022 年 1 月 6 日辭世,享年 98 歲,基金同仁深 表哀悼。 方博士是大學的長期支持者,自 80 年代起便積極透過方樹福堂基金及 方潤華基金,鼎力襄助浸大各領域 的發展,當中包括捐建方樹泉圖書 館、思齊樓及大學基金等項目。方博 士尤為重視浸大中醫藥學院的發展, 多年來贊助多項別具意義的項目, 包括於 2021 年雅諾捐款支持浸大的 中醫藥策略發展及其對營運香港首 間中醫醫院的籌備工作。大學同仁 定必銘記他對浸大發展作出的熱心支 持及重大貢獻。 香港浸會大學基金資深會員蔣震博士, GBM , OBE 於 2022 年 3 月 13 日辭世, 享年 100 歲,基金同仁深表哀悼。 蔣博士為蔣震工業慈善基金兼震雄集團 創辦人,是香港工業界的翹楚,在機械 和工業領域成就非凡。為支持內地及香 港工業發展,蔣博士於 1990 年成立蔣 震工業慈善基金,此後一直致力推動人 才教育和工業領袖培訓。該基金會與眾 多世界著名學府合作,成立至今經費累 計總額達 4 億港元,為全國各地培訓逾 6 萬名工業科技及管理人才。 2021 年, 浸大獲該基金會捐資成立獎學金,以鼓 勵年輕人在學術上追求卓越,並於日後 積極參與香港工業技術的發展。大學同 仁定必銘記蔣博士對浸大、香港乃至內 地所作出的傑出貢獻。 Dr. Henry FongYunWah 方潤華博士 Dr. the Hon.
