50 In Memoriam 永遠懷念 The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Mr. Lo Siu Tong, donor of HKBU, on 2 January 2020. He was 93 years old. Mr. Lo was a distinguished entrepreneur. He founded Yu Tai Hing Company Limited in 1966 and actively participated in Hong Kong’s real estate and property construction industry, launching more than 250 projects over the years. Other members of the Lo family have also had very successful careers. The highly respected Lo family is dedicated to supporting a variety of charitable initiatives, particularly in education, both on the Mainland and in Hong Kong, thereby earning a reputation as passionate philanthropists. Staunch supporters of HKBU, Mr. Lo and his family made a generous donation of HK$100 million in 2019 in support of the University’s strategic development, as they concurred with the University’s motto of ”Faith and Perseverance” and its numerous remarkable achievements in various research areas. Mr. Lo will always be remembered for his distinguished contributions to the education sector. Mr. Lo SiuTong 羅肇唐先生 香港浸會大學捐款人羅肇唐先生於 2020 年 1 月 2 日辭世,積閏享壽 93 歲,基金同 仁深表哀悼。 羅肇唐先生是一位出色的企業家,於 1966 年創辦裕泰興有限公司,活躍 於本港房地產及建築業,參與發展的 地產項目逾 250 個。羅氏家族成員一 門多傑,各有所成,更熱心支持社會 服務工作,積極推動慈善事業,並特 別重視教育,多年來在內地及本港捐 助不同的項目,貢獻深遠。羅先生和 家人對浸大亦關愛有加,十分認同浸 大「篤信力行」的校訓,以及大學在不 同學術研究領域取得無數的驕人成就, 於 2019 年慷慨捐贈港幣一億元予浸 大,以支持大學的策略發展。羅先生對 教育界作出的傑出貢獻我們永誌不忘。 The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Mr. Lee Siu Lun, Honorary University Fellow (2017) and donor of HKBU, on 25 January 2020. He was 98 years old. Mr. Lee was a successful entrepreneur who displayed visionary thinking. He was also a caring person who dedicated himself to philanthropic pursuits. His active citizenship in the community and his contributions to the well-being of society made him a great role model. Mr. Lee made generous contributions towards the University’s endeavours, including the Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning, the School of Chinese Medicine and the Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology. He also supported the University’s Campus Master Plan and granted financial assistance to HKBU students for organising service tours in Sichuan and Gansu provinces. In recognition of Mr. and Mrs. Lee’s generosity, the Learning Commons on the sixth floor of the Fong Shu Chuen Library was named the Mr. and Mrs. Lee Siu Lun Learning Commons in 2016. Mr. Lee will always be remembered for his unfailing support for the University’s development. Mr. Lee Siu Lun 李兆麟院士 香港浸會大學 2017 年榮譽院士兼捐款人 李兆麟先生於 2020 年 1 月 25 日辭世,積 閏享壽 98 歲,基金同仁深表哀悼。 李兆麟院士是一位目光遠大的成功企業 家。他宅心仁厚,樂善好善,尤其樂於 支持家鄉順德的發展。李院士造福社群 不遺餘力,絕對是大眾的典範。李院 士慷慨捐資襄助浸大各項發展,包括全 人教育教與學中心、中醫藥學院和饒 宗頤國學院。他亦支持大學的「校園總 體發展規劃」,並資助浸大學生組織服 務團,前往內地考察四川及甘肅等地。 為表揚李院士伉儷的慷慨支持,大學於 2016 年將位於方樹泉圖書館六樓之研習 中心命名為「李兆麟伉儷研習中心」。 大學同仁定必銘記李院士對浸大發展作 出的超卓貢獻。
