The Federation of Hong Kong Chiu Chow Community Organizations hosted the “Celebratory Party for the 69th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China” at Island Shangri-La Hotel on 19 September 2018. Officiating guests included Dr. Ian Chan, SBS, MH, Chairman of the Federation; The Hon. Matthew Cheung, GBM, GBS, JP, Chief Secretary for Administration; Professor Sophia Chan, JP, Secretary for Food and Health; Dr. Robin Chan, GBS, JP; and Dr. Ma Kai Cheung, SBS, Honorary Presidents of the HKBU Foundation. Over 600 dignitaries and honourable guests joined the celebration. Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation, attended the event on behalf of the University.
