Department of Journalism co-organises “Focus at the Frontline Competition Winners Exhibition”

The Department of Journalism of HKBU’s School of Communication jointly organised the “Focus at the Frontline 2017 - A Photojournalistic Account of 2017 Contest” with the Hong Kong Press Photographers Association. The Opening and Award Presentation Ceremony was held on 1 September 2018. Officiated by The Hon. Mrs. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet Ngor, GBM, GBS, Chief Executive of the HKSAR, the Ceremony was well attended by numerous guests and HKBU representatives. They included Mr. Raymond Tam Chi Yuen, GBS, JP, Executive Director, Corporate Affairs of Hong Kong Jockey Club; Ms. Quince Chong Wai Yan, JP, Chief Corporate Development Office of CLP Power Hong Kong Limited; Dr. Koo Ming Kown, Honorary Permanent President of HKBU Foundation; Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor; Professor Huang Yu, Associate Vice-President (Mainland) and Dean of Communication; Mr. Yeung Chee Kong, Associate Vice-President (Engagement); Professor Alice Lee, Head of the Department of Journalism; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation.

The annual “Focus at the Frontline" Photo Competition is the largest news photo competition in Hong Kong, featuring photographs that are valuable from the perspectives of history, journalism and arts. It aims to increase people’s attention to current affairs and to recognise the contribution of photojournalists to the industry in the past year.
