Sun Museum holds "Hong Kong Modern Sketches" exhibitions

The Sun Museum, funded by the Simon Suen Foundation, Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation, is holding an exhibition entitled “Hong Kong Modern Sketches”. The exhibition features 56 sketchings by 14 Hong Kong artists, including Liu Cheng Mui, Tsui Yuen, Zhu Da Cheng, Shen Ping, Hau Siu Ching, Alex Ho Siu Chung, Lam Man Kong, Zeng Da Mao, Tse Ching, Cheuk Hiu Kwong, Poon Yeuk Fai, Yiu Chu Tung, Aries Wu Chun Yin and Lui Wa.

The Opening Ceremony was held on 23 August 2018. Officiating guests included Mrs. Yim Tsui Yuk Shan, MH, Vice Chairman of Yan Chai Hospital Advisory Board; Dr. Simon Suen, BBS, JP and Miss Chloe Suen, Founding Chairman and Chair of the Simon Suen Foundation respectively; and Mr. Yeung Chun Tong, Director of the Sun Museum. Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation, attended the ceremony on behalf of the University.

In the exhibition, the participating artists employ diverse media ranging from pencil to ink, presenting different styles like figurative and expressive. They have their unique interpretations towards sketching, utilising intersected lines to form stunning pictures. All these artworks are helpful in exploring the distinct aesthetic beauty of sketching. The public can enjoy free admission by appointment and the exhibition will be held until 20 October 2018.
