The New Territories General Chamber of Commerce, Director of the HKBU Foundation, hosted a spring cocktail reception to celebrate Chinese New Year on 1 March 2018. Dr. Haywood Cheung and Dr. Sam Wong, MH, President and Chairman respectively of the Chamber, as well as hundreds of dignitaries and honourable guests including The Hon. Leung Chun Ying, GBM, GBS, JP, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; Ms. Elsie Leung, GBM, JP, Deputy Director of the HKSAR Basic Law Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress; Dr. the Hon. Bernard Charnwut Chan, GBS, JP, Convenor of the Executive Council of HKSAR; Mr. Kevin Yeung, JP, Secretary for Education; and Ir Professor. K.K. Wong, GBS, JP, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Governors, and Mr. Tommy Li, BBS, MH, JP, Honorary Director of the HKBU Foundation, officiated the ceremony. Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation, attended the reception on behalf of the University.
