The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Dr. Liu Lit Mo, MBE, JP, Senior Member of the HKBU Foundation, on 12 July 2017. He was 79 years old.

Dr. Liu, Chairman and Executive Director of Liu Chong Hing Investment Limited, was an outstanding banker and an enthusiast for community service. He served as several leading positions in the community including Chairman of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, President of the Chinese Bankers Club, and Manager of Liu Po Shan Memorial College. He was appointed Justice of the Peace in 1967 and was awarded an MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) and a Silver Jubilee Medal by Her Majesty the Queen in 1968 and 1977 respectively.

Dr. Liu was a prominent banker and a well respected philanthropist whose contributions to education are particularly noteworthy. He made generous donation in support of the University’s development fund in 2005.

The Foundation conveys its deepest condolences to the Liu family at this time of bereavement. Dr. Liu will always be remembered for his unfailing support for the University.
