Dr. Lam Tai Fai, SBS, JP, Chairman of Hong Kong Sports Institute, and his assistant Ms. Ellen So visited the University on 16 August 2017. They were warmly received by Professor Chow Bik Chu, Acting Head of the Department of Physical Education; Professor Cheung Siu Yin, MH, and Dr. Lobo Louie, Professor and Associate Professor respectively of the Department of Physical Education; Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation; and Dr. Liu Jing, Coordinator of the Dr. & Mrs. Hung Hin Shiu Museum of Chinese Medicine. During the visit, the guests were showcased the featured facilities and competitive edges of the School of Chinese Medicine and the Department of Physical Education at HKBU.

Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor, hosted a lunch for the guests at his residence Shiu Pong Hall after the visit. They were joined by Dr. Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning); Mr. Andy Lee, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary; and Mr. C.K. Yeung, Associate Vice-President (Engagement). Professor Chin expressed his deep appreciation for Dr. Lam’s longstanding support for the University and he wished to collaborate closely with Dr. Lam in nurturing young talents for the betterment of the community.
