The University recently received a generous donation of HK$3 million from Mr. Cheng Chak Kuen, Chairman of Dongguan Xingye Trade Development Company Limited, for the establishment of the “Mr. Cheng Chak Kuen Local Students Bursary”, with the aim of supporting financially needy local students in pursuing their studies at HKBU.

In recognition of the donor’s generosity, an agreement signing ceremony officiated by Mr. Cheng Chak Kuen and Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor, was held on 26 July 2017. Other HKBU representatives attending the ceremony included Mr. C.K. Yeung, Associate Vice-President (Engagement); and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation.  Professor Chin expressed his deep gratitude for Mr. Cheng’s staunch support.

The HKBU representatives also visited Dongguan Xingye Trade Development Company Limited and joined the dinner hosted by Mr. Cheng together with other representatives of the Company and friends.
