Eight Foundation members and two donors receive honours from HKSAR Government

Eight HKBU Foundation members and two donors of the University were included in this year’s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Honours List in recognition of their significant contributions to Hong Kong and their dedicated public and community service.
Grand Bauhinia Medal (GBM)
Dr. the Hon. Vincent Lo Hong Sui, GBM, GBS, JP, Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation, was awarded the GBM in recognition of his distinguished public service and significant contributions to the business development of Hong Kong. As the Chairman of the Airport Authority, Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council successively, Dr. Lo has made exemplary contributions in developing Hong Kong into an international aviation hub in the region and promoting Hong Kong as a platform for doing business with the Mainland, throughout Asia and around the world. He is also a prominent and successful entrepreneur with great achievements in the business sector. Dr. Lo is currently Founder and Chairman of the Shui On Group.
Gold Bauhinia Star (GBS)
Dr. David Wong Yau Kar, GBS, JP, former Member of the Board of Governors and the Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation, was awarded the GBS in recognition of his distinguished service and valuable contributions to enhancing the collaboration of the business community, labour sector and the Government through his participation in various advisory and statutory bodies, particularly as the Chairman of the Protection of Wages on Insolvency Fund Board and Chairman of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority. Dr. Wong is currently Managing Director of United Overseas Investments Limited.
Silver Bauhinia Star (SBS)
Dr. Tan Siu Lin, SBS, Chairman of Tan Siu Lin Foundation, Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation, was awarded the SBS for his dedicated and meritorious community service. He is a philanthropist with generous donations to charity, elderly service and education. Dr. Tan is also a successful entrepreneur and has contributed extensively to the business sector.
Mr. Herman Hu Shao Ming, SBS, JP, Honorary Director of the HKBU Foundation, was awarded the SBS for his distinguished public and community service, particularly his significant contributions to the development of higher education sector by participating in council and court business of various universities, as well as the promotion of sports in Hong Kong. Mr. Hu is currently Chairman of Ryoden Development Limited.
Dr. Yeung Kin Man, SBS, JP, donor of the University, was awarded the SBS for his distinguished public and community service, and his dedication to university education, particularly his significant contributions and inspiration to the development of innovation and technology industries in Hong Kong. Dr. Yeung is currently President of Biel Crystal (HK) Manufactory Limited.
Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS)
Dr. Leung Lun, BBS, MH, Member of the Entrepreneur Committee and Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation, was awarded the BBS for his meritorious public and community service, particularly in Kowloon City District. Dr. Leung is currently Chairman of Lung Cheong International Holdings Limited.
Mr. Li Sing Pak, BBS, Executive Secretary of Yuen Long Town Hall Management Committee Limited, Senior Member of the HKBU Foundation, was awarded the BBS for his long and meritorious community service, particularly in Yuen Long District.
The Hon. Kenneth Lau Ip Keung, BBS, MH, JP, Chairman of New Territories Heung Yee Kuk, donor of the University and Legislative Council Member, was awarded the BBS for his meritorious community service, particularly his contributions to fostering cohesion and harmony among the rural communities in the New Territories.
Medal of Honour (MH)
Professor Leung Mee Lee, MH, Senior Member of the HKBU Foundation, was awarded the MH for her dedicated public and community service, particularly her contributions to the promotion of sports in Hong Kong. Prof. Leung is currently Adjunct Professor of the Department of Physical Education of HKBU.
Mr. Frederick Lynn Kwok Wah, MH, Senior Member of the HKBU Foundation, was awarded the MH for his outstanding and dedicated community service, particularly his contributions to the promotion of Chinese arts culture among the youth. Mr. Lynn is currently Chairman of Hong Kong Civic Association.
