The Sun Museum, funded by the Simon Suen Foundation, Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation, is holding an exhibition entitled “Hong Kong Renowned Oil Painters in the Diverse World”. 40 pieces of oil painting from 10 artists including Chu Ying Tung, Lin Ming Chen, Tsui Chee Kui Joseph, Chan Siu Min, Chan Chiu Lung, Wong Pui Kong, Au Yeung Nai Chim, Shaw Tze, Chung Yiu and Kwong Ko Wah were exhibited. All these artists are the forerunners of oil painting in Hong Kong and aged above 70. Despite the painters’ different artistic styles, their paintings interestingly depict a world full of colours and wonders, reflecting the experience of life of the old generation.

The Opening Ceremony, officiated by Mr. Chan Shing Wai, Assistant Director of Leisure and Cultural Services; Dr. Simon Suen, BBS, JP and Miss Chloe Suen, Founding Chairman and Chair respectively of the Simon Suen Foundation; and Mr. Yeung Chun Tong, Director of the Sun Museum, was held on 18 January 2017. Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement, attended the Ceremony on behalf of the University.

The exhibition aims to increase the public’s awareness and interest in oil painting. The public can enjoy free admission by appointment and the exhibition will be held until 11 March 2017. Please click here for details.
