HSBC announces the allocation of funds for the 150th Anniversary Charity Programme
The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC), Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation, announced on 8 September 2016 at its 150th Anniversary Charity Programme (Programme) ceremony the allocation of funds raised from the issuance of two million pieces of HSBC 150th Anniversary Banknotes in 2015. The officiating guests at the ceremony included The Hon. John Tsang, GBM, JP, Financial Secretary; Mr. Peter Wong, Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive, HSBC; Ms. Helen Wong, Chief Executive, Greater China, HSBC; Ms. Diana Cesar, Chief Executive, Hong Kong, HSBC; and Dr. Rosanna Wong, DBE, JP, Non-executive Chairperson, Hongkong Bank Foundation.
Through this Programme, the total net proceeds of HK$477 million will be donated to a number of local charities and to support 11 signature projects for the betterment of the Hong Kong community. As one of the beneficiaries of this Programme, HKBU is grateful to have received generous support from the Hongkong Bank Foundation to establish Hong Kong’s first Institute of Bioresource and Agriculture which aims at promoting the concept of sustainability to the community.
