Visit by Taoist Master Chu Hok Ting, Dr. and Mrs. Simon Suen, and Miss Chloe Suen
Taoist Master Chu Hok Ting, Dr. Simon Suen, BBS, JP, Chairman of the SML Group, Member of the Board of Governors and Co-Chairman of the Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation, Mrs. Mary Suen, Director of the SML Group, and their daughter Miss Chloe Suen, Chairperson of the Simon Suen Foundation, visited the University on 16 August 2016.
Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor, expressed his appreciation to the guests for visiting the University despite their busy schedules. He hoped that the visit would enable the guests to gain a better insight into the University’s recent developments, particularly in the arena of Sinology and Chinese medicine. He looked forward to having further collaboration with Taoist Master Chu and the Suen family for the promotion and preservation of Chinese culture, as well as the advancement of teaching and research in Chinese medicine for the betterment of the community.
The guests visited the Mr. Simon Suen and Mrs. Mary Suen Sino-Humanitas Institute (SHI), the School of Chinese Medicine (SCM), and the Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology (JAS), and they were warmly received by Professor Bian Zhaoxiang, Associate Vice-President and Director of the Clinical Division of SCM; Professor Chen Zhi, Acting Dean of Arts and Director of JAS; Professor Zhang Hongsheng, Director of SHI; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement.
