The University hosted a welcome dinner on 11 March 2016 for the representatives from the Chinese and Western medicine sectors as well as medical research institutes from the US, Australia, Germany, South Korea, Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong taking part in the “International Forum on the Development of Hong Kong Chinese Medicine Hospital” organised by the School of Chinese Medicine.

Several members of the HKBU Foundation were invited to attended the dinner. They were Mrs. Susan So, BBS, Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation and Vice-Chairman of Yan Chai Hospital Advisory Board, Mr. Abraham Chan, Honorary Vice-President of the HKBU Foundation and Chairman of PuraPharm Corporation Limited, and Mr. Tommy Li, Chairman of the Pak Shing Tong Group, Honorary Director of the HKBU Foundation. HKBU representatives attending the dinner included Mr. Cheng Yan Kee, BBS, JP and Mrs. Pamela Chan, BBS, JP, Chairman and Deputy Chairman respectively of the Council and the Court; Mrs. Doreen Chan, Treasurer of the Council and the Court cum Treasurer of the HKBU Foundation; Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor; Professor Rick Wong, Vice-President (Research and Development); Mr. Andy Lee, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary; Professor Ricky Wong, Associate Vice-President; Professor Bian Zhaoxiang, Associate Vice-President cum Director of the Clinical Division of the School of Chinese Medicine; Professor Lu Aiping, Dean of Chinese Medicine; Professor Zhao Zhongzhen, Associate Dean of Chinese Medicine; Mr. Edmund Li, Director of Finance; Mr. Lam Long Chau, Director of Estate Office; Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement; and Ms. Rowena Li, Director of Communication and Public Relations.  The guests exchanged views with HKBU representatives during the dinner.
