Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute hosts reception to strengthen academic ties

The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKCGI) hosted its annual Academic Cocktail Reception on 18 June 2025, bringing together over 70 leaders from local universities, higher education institutions, and education authorities. The event provided a valuable opportunity to foster academic exchange and deepen collaborative partnerships in the field of corporate governance.  

In her welcome remarks, Ms. Stella Lo, Vice-President of HKCGI and Chair of its Qualifications Committee, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the community’s steadfast support. She also reaffirmed HKCGI’s ongoing commitment to its mission of “Better Governance, Better Future”.

Representatives from the HKBU community included Mr. Daniel Chow, Treasurer of HKCGI and Honorary Court Member of HKBU; Ms. Christine Chow, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary of HKBU; Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation; and Dr. Davy Wu, Programme Director of MSc in Corporate Governance and Compliance cum Associate Director (Corporate Governance) of the Centre for Corporate Governance and Financial Policy at HKBU.  

Since 2003, HKCGI has generously supported HKBU through The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute Foundation Limited by funding scholarships and prizes to nurture corporate governance talent. The HKCGI Foundation is currently recognised as Honorary Director of the HKBU Foundation.
