HKBU hosts inaugural China Resources Corporate Governance Scholarship Award Ceremony

The School of Business at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) hosted an award ceremony on 28 March 2025 to recognise the inaugural recipients of the “China Resources Corporate Governance Scholarship”. The event celebrated the academic excellence of students in the Master of Science (MSc) in Corporate Governance and Compliance programme, while also providing an overview of the scholarship scheme and China Resources’ (CR) career development programme, thereby broadening students’ awareness of industry opportunities.
The ceremony was well attended by representatives from CR, HKBU staff, and the scholarship recipients. Among the esteemed guests were Ms. Chen Xiaolin, General Manager, Human Resources Department at CR Corporate Service; Mr. Zhang Naiyuan, Vice General Manager at CR Corporate Affairs; Ms. Eva Chan, Associate Director, Human Resources and Administration Department at CR SWCS Corporate Services; and relevant personnel from CR Corporate Service.
HKBU representatives included Professor Monique Wan, Associate Dean (Taught Postgraduate Studies) of the School of Business and Director of the MBA Programme; Professor Byron Song, Head of the Department of Accountancy, Economics and Finance; Dr. Davy Wu, Programme Director of MSc in Corporate Governance and Compliance; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation.
The ceremony was followed by a reception, where the guests, faculty and students had the opportunity to engage in in-depth dialogues and share their insights and experiences in the field of corporate governance.
Launched in the academic year 2023-2024 with a generous donation from China Resources Charitable Fund Limited, the China Resources Corporate Governance Scholarship is a five-year initiative that annually rewards up to 10 outstanding students in the MSc in Corporate Governance and Compliance programme at HKBU. In addition to financial support, it offers internship and job opportunities, encouraging young people to pursue careers in the professional services industry.
