HKBU receives continued support from Dr. Hencher Lee and her family for scholarship
The University received a further generous donation of around HK$246,500 from Dr. Hencher Lee Han Chih and her family, designated for the establishment of an endowment fund for the “Lee Chan Yuet Ming Memorial Scholarship for Chinese Medicine Postgraduate”, of which the revenue generated will be used to provide up to two scholarships each year for local postgraduate students studying Chinese Medicine.
The “Lee Chan Yuet Ming Memorial Scholarship”, aimed to recognise outstanding local postgraduate students in Chinese Medicine, was set up by the late Mr. Gordon Lee Ping Kwan in 2010, who was a Senior Member of the HKBU Foundation and Chairman of the Li Fook Educational Fund Association. His daughter, Dr. Hencher Lee, inherited his mission and has continued to support the Scholarship since 2017. The new endowment fund was established together with the support of Ms. Hugoria Lee Han Jia and relatives and friends. Dr. Lee, an alumna of HKBU, is a specialist in genetics and genomics, having taken on the role of Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor at two local medical schools. Being an awardee of the Hong Kong Professional Elite Ladies Selection, Dr. Lee was also an advocate for public education in genomic medicine.
