The Sun Joy Studio, founded by Dr. Simon Suen, BBS, JP, Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation, held its opening ceremony on 18 January 2024. Dr. and Mrs. Simon Suen, their daughter Dr. Chloe Suen, Chairman of the Young Entrepreneur Committee of HKBU Foundation, together with Dr. Clement Chen, GBS, JP, Chairman of the Council and the Court; Professor Alex Wai, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation, officiated at the ceremony.

At the same time, the Studio launched its inaugural exhibition album ‘A Journey in Europe, A Journey Painted by Simon Suen’, which presents more than 50 artworks by Dr. Suen, all completed during a three-month trip to Europe. Comprising ink drawings and oil paintings, the works present impressions of places like London, Venice, Milan and Barcelona. These works are also included in the newly published album ‘A Journey in Europe, A Journey Painted by Simon Suen’.
