Dr. Marianna Tsang Wai Chun, MH, Honorary Vice-President of the HKBU Foundation, was awarded the Medal of Honor of Austrian Albert Schweitzer Award by the Schweitzer Societyon 24 May 2022, in recognition of her significant contributions and distinguished service to the charity and community.

Moreover, Hong Kong Baptist University received a generous donation of HK$120,000 from Dr. Marianna Tsang for the establishment of the Dr. Marianna Tsang @ HKBU Subsidized Internship Scheme last year, which sponsored HKBU students to undergo internships at NGOs.

The scheme was successfully concluded, under which a total of 30 students were arranged by the Career Centre of HKBU to undergo a 6-week internship at various social enterprises and each of them received an allowance of HK$4,000. The scheme gave the students an opportunity to get on-the-job experience and broaden their horizons while laying a solid foundation for their future career. In addition, it also enabled the participating organisations to learn about the working abilities and personal qualities of HKBU students. This year, more than 15 NGOs have participated in the scheme.

An alumna and a long-standing supporter of HKBU, Dr. Tsang has made valuable contributions to HKBU over the years. Dr. Tsang is currently Managing Director of TWC Management Limited.
