HKBU received a generous donation pledge of HK$100,000 from Mr. Edmond Y. M. Yiu in the form of a testamentary gift via a social enterprise, designated for supporting the development of the Department of Sport, Physical Education and Health.

Mr. Yiu has been working in the field of sport and recreation for nearly 20 years. He is currently the Supervisor of the Hong Kong Playground Association. Mr. Yiu, who is also an HKBU alumnus, has rendered staunch support towards his alma mater over the years. He previously served as the Chairman of 5th HKBU Physical Education and Recreation Management Alumni Association, and he has been serving as a Member of the Advisory Committee for HKBU Department of Sport, Physical Education and Health since September 2019.

Mr. Yiu said, “ I am deeply grateful for the whole person education that I received from HKBU, and I hope that other alumni will join me in giving back to the University.”
