On April 13, local artist Ms. Helene Wong was invited by the HKBU Chaplain’s Office to share her inspiration on mural creation and life experiences at Noontime Worship.

Ms. Wong is the artist behind the two mosaic murals on the University campus. Both murals were created with the funding support by the Kwok Chung Bo Fun Charitable Fund, Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation. The mosaic mural titled “Jesus Washes the Disciples’ Feet” has been installed on the wall at Level 3 of the Academic and Administrative Building on the Baptist University Road Campus, while the other mosaic mural “Tree of Life” is located at the Li Promenade. Both have become the new landmarks of HKBU and must-see attractions for visitors to campus. A renowned mural artist in Hong Kong, Ms. Wong’s other artworks can be found in Breakthrough Youth Village and the Alliance Bible Seminary.

Mr. Raymond Kwok, Member of the Board of Governors of the HKBU Foundation and representative of the Kwok Chung Bo Fun Charitable Fund, was also invited to present a scripture reading on the occasion.

Sponsored by the Tin Ka Ping Foundation and the Y.K. Jim Charitable Foundation, the event was part of a series of activities held by the Chaplain’s Office during Christian Emphasis Week from 7 to 11 April. This year’s theme is "Art Peace", aiming to bring the elements of peace building to campus through diverse art forms.

The “Tree of Life” was Ms. Helena Wong's first mosaic mural which portrayed water of life flowing down from Heaven
“Jesus Washes the Disciples' Feet” also carried the element of living water, symbolising the love of Jesus Christ
