The University has received multiple donations of rapid antigen test kits from community leaders and organisations since March, helping the University to maintain its continuous operations and protect the health of the University community.

Of these supplies, 10,000 rapid antigen test kits were donated by a member of the University Council and Court to the School of Chinese Medicine. 6,000 rapid antigen test kits were donated by Mr. Ivan Wong, JP, Co-Chairman of the Young Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation and Chairman of the Hong Kong Kowloon City Industry and Commerce Association. Mr. Wong’s donation was made via the Association and the Youth of Guangzhou and Hong Kong Association. In addition, 500 rapid antigen test kits were donated by Professor Calvin Tse, Member of the Young Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation, and also Chairman of Hong Kong Zhuhai Culture and Art Association Company Limited, who sent the supplies through the Association. The supplies from these organisations will be distributed to the frontline staff and students at the University.

To show support and gratitude for frontline healthcare workers, the Lions & Hong Kong Baptist University Chinese Medicine Charity Foundation has made a generous donation of HK$138,000 towards Po Leung Kuk (Elderly Service). The donation aims to sponsor the procurement of protective equipment including protective gowns, caps, face shields, masks and rapid antigen test kits, each in a quantity of 3,000 pieces, for their frontline staff at 16 elderly homes and day care centres. The Clinical Division of School of Chinese Medicine also gifted 3,000 sets of the HKBU Chinese Medicine Immunity Enhancement Remedy to the frontline staff of Po Leung Kuk, thereby boosting their immunity against viral infection.
