President Alexander Wai hosts lunch for Professor Raymond R. Wong

In celebrating the birthday of Professor Raymond R. Wong, SBS, Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation, Professor Alexander Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor, recently hosted a lunch for him at Shiu Pong Hall on 5 November 2021. 

The lunch was joined by HKBU alumni who are also students of Professor Wong from the 70s and 90s including Ms. Betty Lo; Mr. Kenneth Chu; Ms. Milly Lam; Mr. Stanley Mok; Mr. John Liauw; Ms. Eliza Yiu, and his former personal assistant Ms. Candy Li. Other HKBU representatives attending the lunch included Mrs. Sheila Wai; Professor Huang Yu, Associate Vice-President (Mainland) cum Dean of Communication and Film; Professor C.K. Lau, JP, Associate Dean of Graduate School and Head of the Department of Journalism; Ms. Bonnie Chiu, Associate Professor of Practice of the Department of Journalism; Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation; and Ms. Patricia Chan, External Manager of the School of Communication and Film. Guests exchanged views on the latest developments of School of Communication and Film and extended their warmest congratulations to Professor Wong.    

Professor Raymond R. Wong, the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Social Sciences from HKBU who made a generous donation of HK$50 million designated for the establishment of the Dorothy Shen Wong Memorial Fund in 2020, which aims to support an array of strategic initiatives launched by the School of Communication and Film.
