HKBU Foundation members joined HKBU Annual Gala Concert 2021
The Hong Kong Baptist University Symphony Orchestra held its Annual Gala Concert at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre on 16 July 2021.
Titled “Colliding Worlds”, the Orchestra, under the direction of its music director Professor Johnny M Poon, Associate Vice-President (Interdisciplinary Research) and Head of the Department of Music, crossed-over multiple genres with five acclaimed guest musicians including Mr. Patrick Lui, Mr. Sylvain Gagnon, Mr. Nate Wong, Mr. Wei Shen Fu and Mr. Chu Wan Pin, presented a colourful repertoire of music from classical to jazz and from the East to the West.
The Concert was well attended by nearly 800 guests including government officials, members of the HKBU Foundation, staff, students and friends of the University. They included Ir Lam Sai Hung, JP, Permanent Secretary for Development (Works) of HKSAR; Dr. Clement Chen, GBS, JP, Mr. Paul Poon and Ms. Rosanna Choi, Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Treasurer respectively of the Council and the Court of HKBU; Professor Ng Ching Fai, GBS, President Emeritus; Dr. Ronald Lu and Mrs. Stella Lu; Dr. Liu Hong Fai, BBS, JP; Ms. Eileen Tsui, BBS, JP; Mr. Samuel Lam; Professor James Tsien and Professor Teresa Tsien; Mr. Wong Nga Chung; Professor Bernard Wu; Ms. Belinda Hung; Mr. So Chung Ping, MH, Mr. Lam Cho Kwong and Ms. May So; and Mr. Samuel Lau. Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation, also joined the Concert.
