Professor Karen Chan speaks on business development from offline to online
Professor Karen Chan Ka Yin, JP, Member of the Young Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation, Executive Director of German Pool Group Company Limited and Vice President of German Pool (Hong Kong) Limited, was invited by the University as a guest speaker at a “SEED Talk” entitled “From offline to online, how BU graduates excel in the O2O businesses”. The talk was held on 7 May 2020 and hosted by Dr. Henry Fock, Head of the Department of Marketing. Professor Chan shared via a ZOOM Webinar with nearly 470 students and alumni about how she has actively expanded her business in various e-commerce platforms and built up the company’s online presence in numerous social media channels. Other guest speakers included alumni Dr. Angus Cheong and Mr. Andrew Wong.
The “SEED Talks” is one of the activities of the multi-facet Project SEED launched by the University. Speakers are all real-life role models for the new generations. Project SEED aims to nurture Students through Engagement, Enhancement and Development, thereby helping them cope with the current challenging employment outlook.
