Dr. David Mong Tak Yeung, Member of the Board of Governors and the Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation, was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon by the Government of Japan on 3 November 2019. He is the first person from Hong Kong who receives such an honour in the Reiwa era. The Order is to recognise his contributions to promoting cultural exchange and strengthening economic relationship between Japan and Hong Kong. Dr. Mong is currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Shun Hing Group.
