55 In Memoriam 永遠懷念 The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Mr. Chung Po Yang, SBS, OBE, JP, donor of the University and Co-founder of DHL International (Asia Pacific), on 22 October 2024 at the age of 81. Mr. Chung was a pioneer in Hong Kong’s logistics industry. He was crowned the “Father of Courier” for leading the establishment of DHL’s first overseas office in Hong Kong in 1972 and for coining the Chinese term for “courier”. After retiring, he focused on promoting liberal arts and service leadership education. His efforts included supporting HKBU’s academic endeavours and founding the Hong Kong Institute of Service Leadership and Management, which has developed courses for tertiary institutions to nurture ethical leadership virtues. He will always be remembered for his exceptional contributions to the University and the city. 敦豪國際（DHL International）亞太區聯合創辦人鍾普洋先生，SBS，OBE，JP於2024年10月 22日辭世，享年81歲，基金同仁深表哀悼。 鍾先生是香港物流業的先驅。他於1972年協助DHL在香港成立首個海外辦事處，並創造了 「速遞」一詞，因此被譽為「速遞之父」。退休後，他致力推廣博雅及服務領導教育，包括支持 浸大參與學術計劃，以及成立服務領導與管理學院，為多間院校編制服務領導課程，以培育才德 兼備的領導人才。大學同仁定必銘記他對浸大及香港的傑出貢獻。 Mr. Chung Po Yang, SBS, OBE, JP 鍾普洋先生，SBS，OBE，JP The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Dr. Thomas Chen Tseng Tao, Founder of the Si Yuan Foundation and Director of the HKBU Foundation, on 5 November 2024 at the age of 99. A Co-founder and former Chairman of Hang Lung Group, Dr. Chen made notable achievements in Hong Kong’s property sector. His dedication to community service, particularly as a council member of several tertiary institutions, significantly furthered the cause of higher education. In 1997, Dr. Chen established the Si Yuan Foundation to support underprivileged students in Hong Kong and the Mainland. HKBU has immensely benefitted from its generous donations, which have bolstered the University’s development and international participation. He will always be remembered for his remarkable contributions to the University and the field of education. 香港浸會大學基金會董、思源基金會創辦人陳曾燾博士於2024年11月5日辭世，享年99歲，基金 同仁深表哀悼。 陳博士是恒隆集團共同創辦人及前主席，在香港地產界成就卓著。他熱心服務社會，歷任多家 高等院校的校董，對推動高等教育發展貢獻良多。1997年，陳博士創立思源基金會，積極扶助 香港及內地的貧困學生，惠澤無數學子。浸大亦有幸獲思源基金會慷慨捐資，支持本校發展及 參與國際研討會。大學同仁定必銘記他對浸大及教育事業的卓越貢獻。 Dr. Thomas Chen Tseng Tao 陳曾燾博士
