24 Stanford University ranked 60 HKBU scholars among the world’s top 2% of most-cited scientists in 2024. The ranking is based on the “Updated science-wide author databases of standardised citation indicators” in 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields. In the THE Impact Rankings 2024, HKBU rose to the 101-200th band and ranked 2nd globally for its “SDG 4: Quality Education”, underscoring its commitment to inclusive and equitable education. HKBU also made a stellar leap from 105th to 63rd place in the THE Asia University Rankings 2024. One of the projects, led by Professor Terence L.T. Lau, Interim Chief Innovation Officer of HKBU, focuses on a fully automated multiplexing molecular detection platform for disease diagnosis.
