17 University’s Recent Developments 大學最新發展 Outstanding Achievements 傑出成就 In the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, HKBU showed significant progress, its ranking rising from the 501st to 600th range in 2023 to 301st to 350th in 2024. Its place in the QS Asia University Rankings also rose, from 68th to 64th. The University will continue to provide quality interdisciplinary education and conduct more impactful research to raise its standing. 浸大在《泰晤士高等教育》最新世界大學排名中，由 2023 年 的第 501 至 600 位，顯著上升至 2024 年的 301 至 350 位；在 QS 亞洲大學排名則由 68 位上升至 64 位。大學將繼續致力提 供優質的跨學科教育，進行更多具影響力的研究，以提升其 地位。 A total of 52 HKBU scholars ranked among the world’s top 2% most-cited scientists in 2023 by Stanford University. The ranking is compiled with the database created by Professor John P.A. Ioannidis and his Stanford University research team. The achievements of scholars are classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields and evaluated for their career-long and single-year (2022) impact. 52 位浸大傑出學者獲列入史丹福大學 2023 年全球前 2% 頂尖 科學家排行榜。排名由史丹福大學 John P.A. Ioannidis 教授 及其研究團隊建立的資料庫整理得出。資料庫從 22 個學術領 域及 176 個細項分類中，評估學者的研究成果在其學術生涯 和在 2022 年的影響力。 HKBU student athletes and alumni had an impressive score sheet of one gold, four silver and five bronze medals at the Asian Games and the Asian Para Games held in Hangzhou. In recognition of their remarkable performances, the University held a special reception and presented scholarships to the Games medallists and participants. 浸大學生運動員及校友在杭州舉行的亞洲運動會和亞洲殘疾 人運動會取得佳績，共獲得一金、四銀、五銅，為港爭光。 大學舉辦了祝捷會，並向獎牌得主及其他參賽運動員頒發獎 學金，以表彰他們的優秀表現。 Professor AlexanderWai, JP, President andVice-Chancellor ofHKBU,washonouredwiththeOutstandingAchievement Award presented by The Professional Validation Council of Hong Kong Industries, recognising his contributions to foster reindustrialisation with research and development. An expert in optical fibre communications, Professor Wai has pioneered innovative technology and translational research.
