53 In Memoriam 永遠懷念 The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Dr. Kenneth Fang Hung, GBS, JP, Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation, on 28 August 2022. He was 83 years old. Succeeding his father’s business, Dr. Fang, Chairman of Fang Brothers Knitting Limited, was recognised as the “King of Textile” and had established a strong presence and a prominent reputation in the textile industry. As a highly-respected leader in the community, Dr. Fang demonstrated genuine concern for society and paid particular attention to educational development across Hong Kong and Mainland China for decades, sponsoring a wide array of meaningful initiatives, including the HKBU Development Fund and the Ng Ching Fai and Angeline Ng Scholarship, in support of student development at HKBU. He also supported the publication of the “Hong Kong History Project”. Dr. Fang will always be remembered for his zealous support for the University’s development. The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Mr. Choi Hin To, MH, donor of the University, on 23 September 2022. He was 97 years old. Mr. Choi, Managing Director of Hong Kong Garment Mfg. Co., Ltd., a Chiu Chow leader who started his career in the garment and textile industry, served as president or honorary president of various associations. These included the Federation of Hong Kong Garment Manufacturers, the Hong Kong Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce, and the Chinese Manufacturers’Association of Hong Kong, in all of which he contributed significantly to the development of the textile and clothing sector. Devoting himself to charitable causes, promoting education and nurturing youngsters, the highly respected entrepreneur established Yan Chai Hospital Choi Hin To Primary School and served as the council or board member of many schools in Hong Kong. Mr. Choi also supported the development of HKBU students through the HKBU Development Fund and scholarships. Mr. Choi will always be remembered for his earnest support for the University’s development. 香港浸會大學基金榮譽主席方鏗博士, GBS , JP 於 2022 年 8 月 28 日辭世,終年 83 歲,基金同仁深表哀悼。 肇豐針織有限公司董事長方博士繼承 父業,活躍於紡織界,更獲譽為「紡 織大王」。他幼承庭訓,熱心公益, 尤為重視內地和香港教育的發展,當 中包括支持大學發展基金及吳清輝郭 蜀華獎學金,鼎力襄助浸大學生的發 展,同時亦資助《香港通史》出版計 劃。大學同仁定必銘記方博士對浸大 發展的熱心支持。 香港浸會大學捐款人蔡衍濤先生, MH 於 2022 年 9 月 23 日辭世,享年 97 歲, 基金同仁深表哀悼。 百達製衣有限公司董事長蔡先生為潮 鄉領袖,以製衣及紡織業起家,曾出 任香港製衣業總商會、香港潮州商會 及香港中華廠商聯合會會長或名譽 會長,對推動本港製衣及紡織業發展 貢獻良多,備受業界敬重。他熱心公 益,興學育才,創辦仁濟醫院蔡衍濤 小學,並擔任香港多間學校的校監或 校董,同時亦鼎力襄助浸大學生的發 展,當中包括支持大學發展基金及獎 學金。大學同仁定必銘記他對浸大發 展的熱心支持。 Dr. Kenneth Fang Hung 方鏗博士 Mr. Choi HinTo 蔡衍濤先生
