12 We are profoundly grateful for the tremendous support we have received from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. With the Trust’s generous donation, the School of Continuing Education of HKBU has been able to collaborate with industry partners and secondary schools to launch the CLAP-TECH Pathway Project in 2020, a project that aims to develop an alternative study pathway for students. Participating students can obtain knowledge in relation to information technology and develop diverse interests and skills required for the “new collar” jobs in Hong Kong. In a unique feature, the initiative invited over 100 industry professionals to be mentors of 460 students and, through internships, visits and hands-on learning experiences, encouraged them to start planning their career path early and develop their interests for a life-long career. This scholarship not only validates my efforts in volunteer work and academic studies, but also offers many opportunities for personal development. This experience has enabled me to enhance my accounting knowledge and business acumen on various occasions through interactions with outstanding professionals. The award has also provided funding for an exchange visit to the Netherlands, an experience that I look forward to very much.
