22 Professor Zhang Jianhua, Associate Vice-President (Global Research Collaboration) and Chair Professor of the Department of Biology, was named on the 2022 list of Highly Cited Researchers by Clarivate Analytics. It was the second consecutive year that Professor Zhang has been included on the list. The honour recognises his academic publications for being highly cited by fellow academics in the Web of Science. Furthermore, after nearly a decade of continuous study, a research team led by Professor Zhang has managed to identify a “spontaneous thermo-sensitive female sterility 1” gene mutation in an elite rice cultivar during paddy field production. The use of this pioneering female sterility technique has led to a breakthrough in the production of hybrid rice seeds. 協理副校長（全球合作研究）兼生物系講座教授張建華教授 連續兩年獲科睿唯安評選為 2022 年度最廣獲徵引研究人員 之一，代表其學術著作在國際知名研究文獻資料庫 Web of Science 中，獲同儕學者廣泛徵引。此外，經過近十年不斷 研究，張教授及研究團隊在水稻田種植過程中，從一個優 質的水稻品種發現「自發性溫敏雌性不育 1 」基因突變，透 過開創雌性不育技術，為雜交水稻的製種過程帶來突破。 Professor Ge Liang, Professor of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, won the 8th Lu Xun Literary Prize for his work Hair Cutting . He is the first writer from Hong Kong to win this award. Organised by the China Writers Association, the Lu Xun Literary Prize is presented every four years and is widely recognised as one of the world’s leading Chinese- language literary awards. 中國語言文學系教授葛亮教授憑《飛髮》獲頒第八屆魯迅文 學獎，是香港首位奪得這項殊榮的作家。魯迅文學獎由中國 作家協會主辦，每四年評選一次，被譽為全球華文文學獎項 最高榮譽之一。 Dr. Ma Guancong, Associate Professor of the Department of Physics, was bestowed with the prestigious Chen Ning Yang Award 2022 for his pioneering investigations into novel Hermitian and non-Hermitian topological phases in wave systems. Dr. Ma was one of the three awardees in the year, and the first physicist from a Hong Kong university to receive the Award. He was previously awarded the 2021 China Top-10 Rising Stars in Science and Technology title. 物理系副教授馬冠聰博士獲頒發 2022 年楊振寧獎，以表彰 他在波動系統中有關厄米及非厄米拓樸相的開創性研究。 馬博士是 2022 年楊振寧獎三位得獎者之一，亦是首位來自 本港大學的物理學家獲此殊榮。馬博士早前亦獲選「 2021 中國十大新銳科技人物」。 Dr. Gao Meng, Associate Professor of the Department of Geography, received the Xie Yibing Youth Meteorological Science and Technology Award 2022. The honour was in recognition of his contributions to the understanding of the interactions between aerosol pollution and the weather/ climate in Asia at different scales, and improvements in predictions of aerosol pollution. Dr. Gao was one of the six awardees this year and the first scholar from a Hong Kong university to receive the Award. 地理系副教授高蒙博士獲頒發 2022 年謝義炳青年氣象科技 獎，以表揚他研究亞洲氣溶膠污染與天氣 ／氣候在不同尺 度的相互作用，並改善氣溶膠污染的預測。高博士是該獎 項今年六位得獎者之一，亦是首位來自本港大學的學者獲 此殊榮。 Outstanding Achievements 傑出成就
