6 A new beginning I’m delighted to have joined the HKBU community, and as I reflect on my first year at the University, I would like to thank dedicated members of the HKBU Foundation, staunch supporters and friends of the University alike for the warm welcome, and for their commitment to the University’s strategic development. The past year has posed many challenges, but the events that took place in the year under review have also presented us with an opportunity to look at things afresh, and despite the obstacles that have littered the path ahead of us, we have moved forward decisively in our quest to advance education and research. HKBU’s performance in the past year has been nothing less than brilliant. The University Grants Committee announced the results of the Research Assessment Exercise 2020 in May. HKBU’s research standards were 新的開始 我很高興成為浸大的一分子，感謝香港浸會大學 基金會員、捐款人和支持者的關愛，令我很快便 融入這個大家庭，我更欣賞他們的無私奉獻，對 推動大學的策略發展不遺餘力，我謹向他們衷心 致謝。 過去一年充滿挑戰，但同時亦造就機會，讓我們 以全新角度審視各種事物；未來的路可能依然障 礙重重，但無阻我們提升教研水平的決心。全 賴師生的同心同德，浸大去年締造不少佳績。  首先，教育資助委員會評核大學表現的「 2020 年研究評審工作」在 5 月公布結果，浸大在人文 學、傳理及媒介、體育及中醫 等的研究表現為  President’s Message 校長獻辭 While we continue to brave the storms of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year we boldly implemented our transdisciplinary approach to education and research, and exciting results are being seen across the University and Hong Kong through our art-tech projects and other initiatives. 年內我們一方面繼續克服新冠疫情帶來的影響，另一方面積極推行跨學科模式的教育和研究； 此外，不同的藝術科技項目和其他教研計劃，已在校內和社會上結出豐碩的成果。
