49 In Memoriam 永遠懷念 In Memoriam 永遠懷念 The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Dr. Norman B. Cheung, former Chairman of the Board of the then Hong Kong Baptist College (HKBC) and donor of HKBU, on 18 March 2021. He was 82 years old. Dr. Cheung’s deep and lasting bond with HKBU began when he joined as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Accounting in 1967 at HKBC, the predecessor of HKBU. He was appointed to the Board of Governors in 1971 and became Chairman of the Board in 1979. During his near two decades of service, he helped steer the College through its lengthy fight for official recognition in Hong Kong, and he witnessed it becoming a fully-funded public tertiary institution in 1983. Dr. Cheung will always be remembered for his distinguished contributions to HKBU. 前香港浸會學院校董會主席及香港浸會大學捐款人張彬彬博士於 2021 年 3 月 18 日辭世，享年 82 歲，基金同仁深表哀悼。 張彬彬博士與浸大的深厚淵源可追溯至 1967 年，當時張博士在香港浸會學院（香港浸會大學前 身）會計系擔任兼職講師。他於 1971 年獲委任為校董會成員，並於 1979 年成為校董會主席。 張博士孜孜服務本校近二十年，多年來積極為學院向政府爭取撥款資助，終讓學院於 1983 年 獲大學及理工教育資助委員會撥款，成為公立專上學府。大學同仁定必銘記張博士對浸大發 展所作出的傑出貢獻。 Dr. Norman B. Cheung 張彬彬博士 The HKBU Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Mr. Zachary C.S. Hsu, Honorary President of the HKBU Foundation, on 5 April 2021. He was 94 years old. The close relationship between Mr. Hsu and HKBU dates back to 1973 when he first donated to the College Building Fund in support of the advancement of the then Hong Kong Baptist College. In 1976, Mr. Hsu and his wife Mrs. Peggy Hsu established the Mr. & Mrs. Sydney S.O. Au Memorial Scholarship, which has sponsored over 100 needy students to engage in overseas exchange opportunities over the past four decades. Furthermore, they made generous donations in support of the various endeavours of the University, including the Dr. and Mrs. Hung Hin Shiu Chinese Medicine Research and Development Fund. Mr. Hsu will always be remembered for his ardent support and notable contributions to the University. 香港浸會大學基金榮譽主席徐承順先生於 2021 年 4 月 5 日辭世，享年 94 歲，基金同仁深表 哀悼。 徐承順先生與浸大的深厚淵源可追溯至 1973 年，他慷慨捐資予當時的香港浸會學院以支持其 發展；又於 1976 年偕夫人徐區璧琦女士設立「區紹安先生夫人紀念獎學金」，四十多年來資助 了逾百位學生進行海外交流。此外，他們亦慷慨捐資支持大學各領域發展，包括「孔憲紹博士 伉儷中醫 研究及發展基金」。大學同仁定必銘記徐先生對浸大發展所作出的莫大貢獻。 Mr. Zachary C.S.
