18 Beat theVirus,BU & I 疫境 • 並肩 In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic broke out around the globe and people’s daily life was greatly affected. Therefore, using the creative and caring DNA of HKBU students and staff, the University launched the Beat the Virus, BU & I campaign to help the community overcome the challenges posed by the outbreak. 2020 年,新冠肺炎肆虐全球,市民大眾的日常生活大受影響。有見及此,浸大師生 發揮創意和關愛精神,推出 「疫境 • 並肩」計劃 ,與港人攜手應對疫情下的挑戰。 HKBU launched a unique Hong Kong Rehabilitation Programme for COVID-19 which aims to deliver comprehensive recovery care to discharged COVID-19 patients. Discharged COVID-19 patients can experience a number of debilitating physical and mental changes, such as shortness of breath, impaired lung functions, depression, etc. To address this, the interdisciplinary team of the Programme has developed a treatment that combines cardiorespiratory exercise, resistance training and inspiratory muscle training along with Chinese herbal medicines, so as to improve systemic metabolic and immune function, as well as pulmonary problem-related clinical symptoms which are evident in discharged COVID-19 patients. 浸大推出 「香港新冠復康行動」計劃 ,為新冠肺炎病癒人士提供全面性的復康護理。新冠肺炎病癒人士 或會出現氣促、肺功能受損、抑鬱等身心變化。因此,大學的跨學科團隊設計了一個把心肺運動、阻力 訓練和呼吸肌肉訓練與中草藥結合的復康計劃,以改善新冠肺炎病癒人士的新陳代謝和免疫系統功能, 以及與肺部問題相關的臨床症狀。 HKBU’s Centre for Innovative Service-Learning launched the Masks Collection Campaign in early 2020. It collected masks donated by the public and then distributed them to the needy. The Centre also held a PhoneBUddy initiative, recruiting student volunteers to make weekly phone calls to elders who needed to stay at home during the outbreak. 2020 年初,浸大的創新服務學習中心發起 「徵 集口罩行動」 ,呼籲市民捐贈家中額外口罩, 然後再轉贈至社會上有需要人士。中心亦招募 學生義工擔任 「 PhoneBUddy 」 ,每星期與居 家抗疫的長者通電話,送上關懷。 Care for community 關愛社區 Visit“Beat the Virus, BU & I”Website
