University’s Recent Developments 大學最新發展 21 At the Huawei Cloud AI Developer Contest of the Huawei Cloud Summit 2019 held in Hong Kong, a team of Computer Science students known as “AI Phoenix” adopted an advanced machine learning method called “AutoML” when building an artificial intelligence system capable of classifying different kinds of food. Their model, with its high level of accuracy, won a silver medal. 計算機科學系學生團隊「 AI Phoenix 」在 2019 華為雲端香港 峰會的「人工智能開發者大賽」中，在建立可識別食物的人 工智能模型時，應用了嶄新方法「自動學習」，大大提高模 型的準確性，因而奪得銀獎。 HKBU students won two awards at the 60-second Talent Pitch competition of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation Career Expo 2019. Among the 10 finalists, Dora Liu (Master of Social Sciences in Media Management) was selected by the judges as the Most Competitive Talent, while Becky Xu (Master of Arts in Global Society) was named by the audience as the Most Favoured Talent. 浸大同學於香港科學園職業博覽 2019 中的「 60 秒求職擂台」 比賽奪得獎項。於最後十強中，傳媒管理社會科學碩士生劉 欣怡獲得評審挑選為「你最正創科人」，而全球社會研究文學 碩士生徐靜雯則獲現場觀眾投票為「你最型創科人」。 A team comprising 26 students and alumni from the Master of Business Administration programme clinched two distinguish honours at the 8th Asia-Pacific Business School Desert Challenge, namely the Sand Gull Award, which was the highest group honour, and the overall championship prize in the women’s group. The three-day 70 km-challenge was held in the Tengger Desert in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. 26 位工商管理碩士課程的學生和校友組隊參加在內蒙古 自治區騰格里沙漠舉行的「第八屆亞太地區商學院沙漠挑 戰賽」，在三日內徒步穿越 70 多公里，獲得最高團體榮譽 獎「沙鷗獎」和女子組冠軍。 Religion and Philosophy PhD student Antonio De Caro won the Young Scholar Award of the European Association for Chinese Philosophy with his outstanding paper focusing on the writings of Fr. Angelo A Zottoli, an Italian Jesuit who lived in Shanghai in the 19th century teaching philosophy and theology. De Caro’s work provides the first English translation of Fr. Zottoli’s philosophical and theological writings on cosmogony written in Latin and Chinese. 宗教及哲學系博士生戴嘉羅獲歐洲中國哲學學會頒發青年學 者獎，以表揚他就 19 世紀意大利籍耶穌會士晁德蒞的哲學及 神學文章所作的研究。晁德蒞居於上海，教授哲學和神學， 並以拉丁文和中文撰寫有關宇宙起源的文章。這些文章由戴 嘉羅首次翻譯成英文。
