Chairman’s Report 主席報告 4 • The Tin Ka Ping Foundation made generous donations to support the “Tin Ka Ping Education Fund”, the “Mainland China Visiting Scholars Programme”, the “Chinese Writers’ Workshop” and the “Hong Kong Creative Drama Festival”; • The Vincent and Lily Woo Foundation made a donation designated for the establishment of an endowed associate professorship in the area of Chinese Medicine; • Wu Jieh Yee Charitable Foundation Limited made a donation to support a three-year research project on “The molecular characteristics and interrelationship of inflammation and cancer: new therapeutic strategy with traditional Chinese medicine”, conducted by the ShumYiu Foon Shum Bik Chuen Memorial Centre for Cancer and Inflammation Research; • Mr. Stanley Yim, BBS, JP, Chairman of S.A.S. Dragon Holdings Limited, made a donation designated for the establishment of a student development fund in support of student exchanges, internships and innovative service-learning. It is encouraging that the Government launched the eighth round of the Matching Grant Scheme and the Research Matching Grant Scheme in 2019. These timely gifts were therefore doubly meaningful to us, as their benefit could be maximised through our application for matching grants. To celebrate its 10th anniversary and raise additional resources in support of the University’s Strategic Plan, the Foundation held the “HKBU Fundraising Dinner” in November 2019. Although at that time tensions in society were growing due to the political turmoil, our guests were highly supportive and insisted on joining the occasion. I was delighted to see how united the HKBU family is – this is undoubtedly another blessing for the University. • 田家炳基金會慷慨注資「香港浸會大學— 田家炳教育基金」，擴展「中國傑出訪問學 人計劃」的規模，加强浸大與內地高校的 聯繫；又捐資支持文學院舉辦「華語作家 創作坊」及香港創意戲劇節； • 吳文政．王月娥基金會慷慨捐資襄助大學 在中醫藥範疇設立冠名副教授席； • 伍絜宜慈善基金有限公司慷慨捐資，襄助 中醫藥學院轄下的岑堯寬岑碧泉紀念癌症 炎症研究中心推行一項為期三年、名為「炎 症與癌症分子特徵及相互關聯研究與中醫 藥治療新策略」的研究，為腫瘤防治提供有 效療法； • 時捷集團有限公司主席嚴玉麟先生，  BB S ， J P 捐資設立學生發展基金，資助 學生進行學術交流、實習及創新的服務  學習。 此外，特區政府於 2019 年推出第八輪配對補助 金計劃及研究配對補助金計劃，上述善舉真是 及時雨，正好襄助大學申請政府配對，以達捐 贈之最大效益。 2019 年 11 月，基金為慶賀成立十周年並就大學 的策略發展計劃籌募資源，舉辦了「香港浸會 大學籌款晚宴」。晚宴舉行之際，適值香港處 於動盪及不安之中，幸獲各界友好鼎力支持， 一呼百應，同心為大學籌款之餘，更堅持赴 會，再次讓我親身感受浸大這個大家庭的團結 和關愛精神，也是浸大蒙福的另一例證。
