As always, our heartfelt thanks go to all benefactors of the Scheme, and we look forward to extending such partnerships with the support of more individuals and organisations. Campus development underpins our strategic plan as we strive to fulfil the goals of delivering the best learning experience for our students and producing world-class research through a student-centric infrastructure and state-of-the-art facilities. As part of the Campus Master Plan, design for the proposed hostel and academic building complex project on Renfrew Road is well underway. The project will double our student hostel capacity in four new hostel towers with 1,700 hostel spaces plus 6,900 square metres of academic space. The project is expected to be completed in the 2023-2024 academic year. In addition, the redevelopment of the Ho Sin Hang Campus will commence in 2024 to meet the growing needs of students and faculty staff for both teaching and research. I am delighted to let you know that we are receiving generous support from the Government and our supporters although we are still quite some way from reaching the funding target. Activities and events throughout the year revealed the great diversity of talent we enjoy at HKBU, both in our students and colleagues as well as alumni and friends. Such talent is more important than ever in this high- tech world as we strive to become the leading research-led liberal arts university in Asia for the world. In 2018, we celebrated a host of anniversaries, with the School of Chinese Medicine, the School of Communication, the Department of Chinese Language, and the Department of History all marking key milestones. Having contributed extensively to the health and well-being of the local, national and global community, the School of Chinese Medicine celebrated 20 fruitful years of excellence in education, research and healthcare.
