2017-2018 學年是香港浸會大學充滿期待的一 年，亦是大學師生承先啟後共同奮力開展「策 略發展計劃 2018-2028 」的一年。 策略發展計劃體現了大學社群的抱負，既重新 肯定浸大的歷史使命，亦為其未來十年的發展 訂立了路線圖及時間表；在關愛、創意和國際 化三大「浸大基因」的基礎上實踐目標。經過 一年的努力，教學和研究已取得多項新發展， 大學亦與多個環球夥伴締結合作關係，成績令 人鼓舞。 策略發展計劃以跨學科教學和研究為重點，冀 能為影響人類及世界的重大問題提出解決方 案。為此，我們設定了三個教研重點領域，並 推行「人才 100 」計劃。 我們以健康與藥物研發、數據分析和人工智 能，以及創意媒體為三大重點領域，一方面可 集中研究力量為影響現在與未來的重大問題開 拓知識，同時亦可善用浸大在這三方面的固有 人才。浸大深信這些多元領域至為重要，因此 以開辦相關範疇的世界級課程為優先策略。 人才是實現上述目標的關鍵要素，因此我們推 行「人才 100 」計劃，目標是在世界各地招募 100 位頂尖人才執行教學及研究的工作，促進 人類進步。計劃推行至今進展良好，我們將 繼續廣納各地專才，以實現策略發展計劃的  目標。 2017 年 11 月，我們向三位傑出教授頒授冠名 講座教授席，並表揚各支持者對大學的熱心襄 助。冠名講座教授席計劃為浸大吸納最出色的 學者，以拓闊學生的環球視野，以及推動世界 頂尖的創新科研。大學能得到一眾認同浸大辦 學理念的支持者慷慨襄助，實在令人鼓舞。 2017-2018 was an exciting year with keen anticipation and bustling activity as we put our Institutional Strategic Plan 2018-2028 (ISP) into action while at the same time celebrating the key milestones that we have reached. The ISP embodies our collective aspirations and sets out the roadmap and timeline to achieve our aims which are grounded in HKBU’s Caring, Creative and Global DNA. It both reaffirms our historic mission and sets the direction for the University’s transformative changes over the next 10 years. Progress over the past year has taken us into new heights in teaching and research and has enabled us to forge new ties with multiple global partners. These developments have been a great source of encouragement. With the aim of building on our strong foundations, the ISP puts interdisciplinary teaching and research at the heart of a plan that looks to tackle the major issues impacting humanity and the world. To this end, we launched our three teaching and research clusters and the Talent100 initiative. Focusing on exploring core issues that define our present and our future, while taking advantage of our innate talent, the three new clusters are Health and Drug Discovery, Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, and Creative Media and Practice. At HKBU, we strongly believe that these diverse disciplines are key and hence have made it our strategic priority to produce world-class programmes in these clusters, which play to our strengths. Talent is key to realising these aims. With this in mind we launched the Talent100 initiative under which we will recruit 100 faculty talents from across the world to teach, conduct research, and advance humanity at our University. We are making good progress in this initiative and will continue to forge ahead to recruit the best to join us in attaining our goals. In November 2017, we held a special ceremony to mark the appointment of three Endowed Chairs and to recognise their respective supporters. The Endowed Chairs Scheme serves to attract the world’s great minds to HKBU to broaden students’ horizons and to conduct world-class, ground- breaking research.
