The Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Mrs. Amelia Lee, Honorary University Fellow (2006) of HKBU and Patron of Wofoo Foundation Limited, Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation, on 14 April 2018. She was 92 years old. Mrs. Amelia Lee had her heart devoted to caring for society, and was deeply committed to promoting public welfare and philanthropy. She supported the overall development of HKBU through Wofoo Foundation Limited. These included donations in support of our leadership training and career planning programmes, and our institutional advancement. In recognition of the generous support made by Mrs. Lee and Wofoo Foundation Limited, the University named the Student Common Room on the 4/F of the Sir Run Run Shaw Building, Ho Sin Hang Campus, the “Wofoo Foundation Amelia Lee Student Centre” in 2005. She will always be remembered for her untiring support and significant contributions to the University’s development. 香港浸會大學 2006 年榮譽大學院士及香港浸會大學基金永遠榮譽主席和富慈善基金有限公司贊助 人李吳劍鳴女士於 2018 年 4 月 14 日辭世,享年 92 歲,基金同仁深表哀悼。 李院士關心社會,積極推動公益和慈善事業,造福社群。她透過和富慈善基金有限公司為大學的整 體發展作出了莫大貢獻,包括捐資支持學生領袖訓練及事業導航計劃等項目。為鳴謝李院士及和富 慈善基金對浸大的鼎力支持,大學於 2005 年把位於善衡校園邵逸夫大樓四樓的學生活動中心命名 為「和富慈善基金李吳劍鳴學生中心」。大學定必銘記李院士對浸大發展的熱心支持和重大貢獻。 The Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Dr. the Hon. Tin Ka Ping, GBM, MBE, Honorary Doctor of Social Sciences (1996) of HKBU and Honorary Trustee of the HKBU Foundation, on 10 July 2018. He was 99 years old. Dr. Tin was a prominent industrialist and a visionary philanthropist. He was the Chairman of Tin’s Chemical Industrial Company. He set up the Tin Ka Ping Foundation in 1982. Countless schools, hospitals and charities in Hong Kong and on the Mainland benefitted from his philanthropy. A staunch supporter of HKBU since 1997, Dr. Tin made generous donations in support of a variety of endeavours of the University, including the HKBU Development Fund, the establishment of the Tin Ka Ping Education Endowment Fund, the Tin Ka Ping Foundation – HKBU Mainland China Visiting Scholar Programme, the Hong Kong Creative Drama Festival, the 4E Whole Person Servant Leadership Programme as well as various conference series and our institutional advancement at large. Dr. Tin will always be remembered for his ardent support and distinguished contributions to the University. 香港浸會大學 1996 年榮譽社會科學博士及香港浸會大學基金永遠榮譽董事田家炳博士, GBM , MBE 於 2018 年 7 月 10 日辭世,享年 99 歲,基金同仁深表哀悼。 田博士是工業界翹楚,也是富有遠見的慈善家,曾任田氏化工有限公司董事長。田博士於 1982 年成 立了田家炳基金會,多年來於公益慈善事業上竭盡所能,在香港及內地興教辦學、捐建醫院,受捐 助單位不計其數。田博士對浸大關愛有加,自 1997 年起慷慨捐資大學各項發展,包括香港浸會大學 發展基金、成立「田家炳教育基金」,並襄助大學推行「田家炳基金會—香港浸會大學中國內地訪問 學人計劃」、「香港創意戲劇節」、「 4E 全人服務領袖計劃」,以及支持大學舉辦研討會等項目,促進 大學的長足發展。我們定必銘記田博士對浸大發展的熱心支持和傑出貢獻。 The Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Dr. Walter Kwok Ping Sheung, JP, donor of HKBU, on 20 October 2018. He was 69 years old. Dr. Kwok, founder of Empire Group Holdings Limited and former chairman and chief executive of Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited, was a Hong Kong property magnate who made remarkable contributions to the real estate and property construction industry. He founded the Walter Kwok Foundation and the Kwok Scholars Association to support various charitable activities. He also made generous donations in support of the University’s institutional advancement and the construction of the David C. Lam Building. Dr. Kwok will always be remembered for his notable contributions to education and the community, as well as his unswerving support for the development of the University. 香港浸會大學捐款人郭炳湘博士, JP 於 2018 年 10 月 20 日辭世,享年 69 歲,基金同仁深表哀悼。 郭炳湘博士為帝國集團創辦人,曾任新鴻基地產集團主席兼行政總裁。郭博士是香港地產界鉅子,對 房地產及建築業之發展貢獻卓著。郭博士不僅是傑出的企業家,亦是熱心的慈善家,為人樂善好施。 郭博士創辦郭炳湘基金和郭氏學人協會,積極推動公益項目。郭博士對浸大亦關愛有加,曾慷慨捐資 支持大學發展及興建思齊樓。我們定必銘記郭博士對教育界、社會及浸大發展作出的傑出貢獻。 47 In Memoriam 永遠懷念 Mrs. Amelia Lee 李吳劍鳴院士 Dr. the Hon.
