45 In Memoriam 永遠懷念 In Memoriam 永遠懷念 The Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Mrs. So Chau Yim Ping, BBS, JP, Member of the Court and Honorary University Fellow (2015) of HKBU, as well as Honorary Trustee of the HKBU Foundation, on 26 January 2018. She was 91 years old. Mrs. So was an outstanding entrepreneur and participated in numerous community and charitable services. A staunch and much valued supporter of HKBU, Mrs. So made her first donation to the University as early as 1976 and since then, she supported various endeavours of the University, including a campus development fund and the setting up of exchange scholarships. The University also received the wise counsel given by Mrs. So in her capacities as Member of the Board of the then Hong Kong Baptist College, and Member of the Court of HKBU. Mrs. So will always be remembered for her zealous support and significant contributions to the University’s development. 香港浸會大學基金永遠榮譽董事、浸大諮議會成員兼 2015 年榮譽大學院士蘇周艷屏院士， BBS ， JP 於 2018 年 1 月 26 日辭世，享年 91 歲，基金同仁深表哀悼。 蘇周艷屏院士是傑出的企業家，並熱心參與公共服務。蘇院士是浸大的長期支持者，早於 1976 年，她已向本校作出第一筆捐獻；四十多年來，她慷慨捐資支持大學各項發展，包括大學發 展基金及學生交流獎學金。她曾出任香港浸會學院董事局成員及香港浸會大學諮議會成員， 為大學的長足發展提供寶貴意見。大學同仁定必銘記蘇院士對浸大發展的熱心支持和貢獻。 The Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Professor the Hon. Jao Tsung-I, GBM, Honorary Doctor of Letters (2012) of HKBU and Permanent Honorary Director of the HKBU Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology, on 6 February 2018. He was 105 years old. Regarded as the world’s foremost sinologist, Professor Jao devoted his life’s work to the study of Chinese and Oriental civilisations. He earned a world-class reputation in academic circles as a dual master of both scholarship and art, and an intermediary between East and West. In 2013, the University established the Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology, the first institution of its kind in Hong Kong, which aims at promoting classical Chinese studies and nurturing a new generation of sinologists. Professor Jao generously donated twelve sets of his fine works of art for auction in support of the Academy’s scholarly activities, teaching and research. He will be dearly missed and will always be remembered for his invaluable contributions to the University and to the understanding of Chinese culture around the world. 香港浸會大學 2012 年榮譽文學博士及香港浸會大學饒宗頤國學院永遠榮譽院長饒宗頤教 授， GBM 於 2018 年 2 月 6 日辭世，積閏享壽 105 歲，基金同仁深表哀悼。 國學泰斗饒宗頤教授畢生致力研究中華及東方文明，譽滿黌宇，不但集學問與藝術於一身， 而且學貫中西，是中西文化的橋樑。 2013 年，香港浸會大學成立全港第一所饒宗頤國學院， 旨在傳承國學，弘揚中華文化，培育新一代漢學家。饒教授慷慨捐贈十二套書畫精品作慈善 拍賣，為國學院籌募經費，以支持其學術活動及教研工作。大學同仁定必銘記饒教授對浸大 發展的熱心支持，以及對本地乃至國際漢學界的超卓貢獻。 Mrs. So ChauYimPing 蘇周艷屏院士 Professor the Hon.
