4 Chairman’s Report 主席報告 With generous donations from various sectors of society, the University launched a number of innovative projects in 2018, benefiting not only our Schools and Departments but also the public at large. They include: • The “Hong Kong Baptist University – Jockey Club Chinese Medicine Disease Prevention and Health Management Centre” was established to promote the concept of preventing diseases from occurring; • The “Jockey Club Responsible Consumption Programme” run by the Department of Marketing of the School of Business was to promote a responsible consumption culture; • Supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the Dr. Stephen Hui Research Centre for Physical Recreation and Wellness launched a three-year project entitled “Mus-Fit Action” promoting musculoskeletal health among the elderly; • With a donation funded by the HSBC 150th Anniversary Charity Programme, Hong Kong’s first Institute of Bioresource and Agriculture was launched, providing professional training for farmers to conserve bioresources and educating the public on living a sustainable life; • Mr. Kam Yuen made a donation pledge to establish the Golden Meditech Centre for NeuroRegeneration Sciences, which will support research related to autologous neural stem cell therapy; • Alumni Dr. Liu Chak Wan and Madam Lei Ioc Heng made a donation in support of the University's institutional advancement; • Digital Blockchain Technology Limited made a donation to establish a Blockchain and FinTech Laboratory in support of teaching and research at the Department of Computer Science; • With the support of the Vincent and Lily Woo Foundation, the School of Chinese Medicine in collaboration with Cornell University launched a project entitled “East Meets West: A Revolutionised Nanotechnology Approach to Modernise the Delivery of Chinese Medicine for Vastly Improved Cancer Therapeutic Efficacy”; • Sponsored by Hong Kong King Wai Group Company Limited and the Simon Suen Foundation, the first Global University Film Awards was held by the Academy of Film of the School of Communication. 2018 年,透過各界的捐款,浸大亦開展 了多個創新的計劃,惠澤各學系、部門 和社會大眾: • 推廣「治未病」的香港浸會大學─賽馬 會中醫疾病預防與健康管理中心; • 由工商管理學院市場學系推行的賽馬 會責任消「廢」計劃,推廣負責任消費 文化; • 由賽馬會捐助體育及運動學系轄下的 許士芬博士體康研究中心推動為期三 年的「肌不可失」計劃,促進長者肌肉 與骨骼健康; • 由 豐 150 周年慈善計劃資助、本港 首家生物資源與農業研究所,提供專 業培訓予本地農民、保護生物資源, 以及教育公眾實踐可持續生活; • 甘源先生雅諾捐資成立金衛醫療神經 再生研究中心,襄助浸大進行個人化 幹細胞療法的研究; • 校友廖澤雲博士及李玉馨女士捐資支 持大學整體發展; • 數字區塊鏈科技有限公司捐資成立 香港浸會大學區塊鏈與金融技術實驗 室,襄助計算機科學系的研發工作; • 吳文政.王月娥基金會捐資支持中醫 藥學院與康奈爾大學合作的「中西結 合:利用創新納米技術提高中藥治療 癌症的療效」研究項目; • 由香港經緯集團有限公司及孫少文基 金會捐資支持傳理學院電影學院創辦 第一屆「全球大學電影獎」。
