Annual Report 2017-18

HKBU researchers won three Gold Medals with the Congratulations of Jury, one Gold Medal, and an Award of excellence from Romania at the 46th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva. The winning projects are a “Lead Detecting Device for Water”, a “Lip-password: Double Security System for Identity Authentication”, “Medical Devices for Stem Cell Therapy” and “Treatment for Irritable Bowel Syndrome Disease”. HKBU has been awarded gold medals for all the projects it submitted for three consecutive years. 浸大的研究團隊於第 46 屆日內瓦國際發明展上奪得三項評 判嘉許特別金獎、一項金獎及羅馬尼亞優異獎。四個得獎 項目分別是「簡易快速測試食水中鉛含量的器材」、「唇語 密碼技術」、「幹細胞療法醫療器材」及「腸易激綜合症療 法」。浸大連續三年所有參賽項目均取得金獎。 The School of Communication’s Journalism student Henry Wong took first place in the National Geographic Wheelock Youth Photo Competition 2017, “People and Happenings in Hong Kong” category, with his black and white photo “Spirit of Hong Kong”. 傳理學院國際新聞專修學生黃俊鏗憑着黑白攝影作品《香 港精神》，在 2017 國家地理會德豐青年攝影大賽的「香港人 和事」組別中勇奪第一名。 The School of Chinese Medicine topped several lists assessing the quantity and quality of published research in a ranking conducted by US company Bioinformedicine Service. The School came first for the “proportion of publications in top 25%” and “number of articles published by Nature Index journals”, and also took first spot in the overall ranking of publication quality. 中醫藥學院在美國 Bioinformedicine Ser vice 公司發表 的「中國．兩岸四地中醫藥類院系的國際學術論文表現」 報告中，在「前 25% 期刊發文數量佔比」和「 Nature Index 收錄期刊發文數」均名列第一，整體論文質素更居榜首。 A team of five Computer Science students won the First Class Award in the ASC Student Supercomputer Challenge 2018 organised by the Asia Supercomputer Community. Among the 300 teams from worldwide, the HKBU team secured a place in the final round of the Challenge and won the First Class Award. The HKBU team was the only Hong Kong team to enter the final round. 浸大計算機科學系一支五人學生隊伍最近出戰由亞洲超算 協會舉辦的 2018 世界大學生超級計算機競賽，與全球 300 多支參賽隊伍較量，是唯一晉級決賽的香港隊伍，結果奪 得一等獎。 Outstanding Achievements 傑出成就 20 University’s Recent Developments 大學最新發展
