43 In Memoriam 永遠懷念 Mr. LauWong Fat 劉皇發先生 The Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Mr. Lau Wong Fat, GBM, GBS, JP, Former Chairman of the Heung Yee Kuk N.T., donor of the University, and Honorary President of the New Territories General Chamber of Commerce, Director of the HKBU Foundation, on 23 July 2017. He was 86 years old. Mr. Lau dedicated his entire life to service in the NewTerritories and led the Heung Yee Kuk for 35 years, making profound contributions to rural development and to the improvement of the livelihood of rural residents. During his tenure as Chairman of the Heung Yee Kuk, a generous donation was made to the University in support of the publication of a book entitled “A History of the Heung Yee Kuk N.T.” by the Advanced Institute for Contemporary China Studies. Mr. Lau will always be remembered for his distinguished contributions to the betterment of Hong Kong, as well as his unswerving support for the University. Dr. Vivienne Luk 陸何慧薇博士 The Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Dr. Vivienne Luk, Honorary Director of the HKBU Foundation, on 29 October 2017. Dr. Luk was the former Head of the Department of Management and Director of the Wing Lung Bank International Institute of Business Development of the School of Business of HKBU. During her 42 years of dedicated service, Dr. Luk was a key contributor to the development of the School of Business and demonstrated a strong commitment to internationalisation, community engagement and student development. In addition, she made generous donations in support of the advancement of the University and for the establishment of the Alumna Dr. Vivienne Luk Scholarship for Business Students. Dr. Luk will always be fondly remembered for her zealous support for the University. Mrs. Mona Shaw 邵方逸華女士 The Foundation records with deepest sorrow the passing of Mrs. Mona Shaw, donor of the University, on 22 November 2017. She was 83 years old. Mrs. Mona Shaw was Chairperson of The Sir Run Run Shaw Charitable Trust, The Shaw Foundation Hong Kong and The Shaw Prize Foundation. Both Mrs. Shaw and her husband, The Honourable Sir Run Run Shaw, GBM, CBE, Honorary Trustee of theHKBUFoundation, were great philanthropists and theywere dedicated to the development of education, scientific and technological research, medical and welfare services, as well as culture and arts. Mrs. Shaw and Sir Run Run Shaw were longstanding supporters of HKBU. In the past four decades, they made generous donation in support of a variety of endeavours of the University, including specialised teaching in film and television education, the construction of the David C. Lam Building and the establishment of the Sir Run Run Shaw Endowment Fund. In recognition of their unswerving support, the University named a new building on the Ho Sin Hang Campus the Sir Run Run Shaw Building in 1989, the new campus on Renfrew Road was called the Shaw Campus and an administration building on the Shaw Campus was named the Shaw Tower. Mrs. Shaw will always be remembered for her significant contributions to the University’s development. 香港浸會大學捐款機構新界鄉議局前主席 及香港浸會大學基金會董新界總商會榮譽 會長劉皇發先生, GBM , GBS , JP 於 2017 年 7 月 23 日辭世,享年 86 歲,基金同仁深表哀 悼。 劉皇發先生畢生致力新界事務,曾擔任鄉 議局主席長達 35 年,對鄉郊發展及改善鄉 民生活貢獻卓著。在他出任新界鄉議局主 席期間,香港浸會大學獲該局捐資當代中 國研究所編寫及出版《新界鄉議局史》。劉 先生對浸大及本港社會發展貢獻良多,大 學同仁定必永誌不忘。 香港浸會大學基金榮譽會董陸何慧薇博士 於 2017 年 10 月 29 日辭世,基金同仁深表哀 悼。 陸何慧薇博士為前香港浸會大學管理學系 系主任及永隆銀行國際商貿研究所所長。 陸博士盡心竭力服務大學 42 年,積極推動 工商管理學院的發展,尤其在國際化、 社區互連及學生發展方面,成績斐然。此 外,陸博士多年來慷慨捐資支持大學發 展,又設立「陸何慧薇校友獎學金」,惠澤 莘莘學子。我們定必懷念陸博士對浸大發 展的熱心支持。 大學捐款人邵方逸華女士於 2017 年 11 月 22 日辭世,享年 83 歲,基金同仁深表哀悼。 邵方逸華女士為邵逸夫慈善信託基金、邵 氏基金會(香港)及邵逸夫獎基金會主席。 邵夫人與夫婿香港浸會大學基金永遠榮譽 董事邵逸夫爵士, GBM , CBE 均為知名的慈 善家,致力促進教育科研、推動醫療福利 及文化藝術的發展,影響深遠。 邵夫人與邵逸夫爵士是浸大的長期支持 者。四十多年來,他們對浸大關愛有加, 慷慨捐資支持大學各項發展,包括電影 和電視教育、襄助大學興建思齊樓及成 立「邵逸夫爵士基金」。為鳴謝他們歷年來 的支持,本校於 1989 年將善衡校園內一座新 大樓命名為邵逸夫大樓,並於 1995 年把位於 聯福道的新校園及行政大樓分別命名為逸 夫校園及逸夫行政樓,以彰盛德。我們定 必銘記邵夫人對浸大發展的重大貢獻。
