23 Introduction to the Foundation 基金簡介 Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation 香港浸會大學基金 Board of Governors 董事局 Foundation Secretariat 基金秘書處 Entrepreneur Committee 企業家委員會 Alumni Committee 校友委員會 The Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation was established in early 2009 with a clear mandate to consolidate support from all sectors of society and to enhance the University’s fundraising capabilities. The Foundation undertakes to secure more resources to sustain the University’s development in every sphere in fulfilment of its mission of Whole Person Education. The Foundation allocates donations in accordance with the donors’wishes to support the University’s following initiatives: • Teaching and Learning • Academic Research • Campus Development • Student Scholarships and Bursaries • Internationalisation and Student Exchange • Community Service Under the Foundation, a number of development and research funds have been set up. They are prudently managed with the annual investment income appropriated to finance the University’s endeavours. Appointed by the University’s Council, in conjunction with the President and Vice-Chancellor, the Board of Governors is responsible for the management of the Foundation to ensure that it consistently supports the University’s advancement projects. The Foundation’s two standing committees, namely the Entrepreneur Committee and the Alumni Committee, are responsible for giving advice and recommendations to the Board on the formulation of fundraising strategies and the extension of the University’s support base. Going forward, HKBU aspires to be a leading, research-led, liberal arts University in Asia for the world delivering academic excellence in a caring, creative and global culture. The University will focus its energies and resources on three strategic priorities. The first one is to deliver the best student experience in Hong Kong by emphasising integrity, creativity, communication, employability, and commitment to the common good of humankind. Secondly, the University will produce world class research in selected clusters to deliver research excellence. Thirdly, HKBU will sustain academic development through appropriate investments in people, governance and facilities through initiatives such as the Talent100. To tie-in with the strategic direction of the University’s development, the Foundation is committed to further extending the University’s support base, such as the establishment of the Young Entrepreneur Committee. It will spare no effort to secure the necessary financial resources to implement key initiatives in support of the University’s strategic priorities. 香港浸會大學基金於 2009 年成立，旨 在凝聚各方的力量，加強大學的籌款能 力。基金致力籌募更多的資源以推動浸 大各領域持續發展，實踐全人教育的使 命。 香港浸會大學基金匯集各界的捐獻，並 根據捐款人的意願，用於推行大學以下 各項活動： • 教與學 • 學術研究 • 校園發展 • 獎助學金 • 校園國際化及學生交流 • 社會服務 基金下設有多項發展及研究基金，以審 慎理財的原則管理，每年調撥有關投資 收益，用以支持不同項目。 基金由浸大校董會聯同校長委任的董事 局監管，並以大學的發展為依歸。董事 局轄下設有「企業家委員會」及「校友委 員會」，負責就制定策略性籌款方案及拓 闊社會網絡方面提供寶貴意見。 展望未來，浸大致力在未來十年成為一所 領先亞洲、立足世界的研究型博雅大學， 並在關愛、創意、國際化的氛圍中發揮學 術卓越。浸大將透過三大優先策略，向既 定目標邁進。第一項策略是為學生提供最 佳學習體驗，着重誠信、創意、溝通、就 業能力和貢獻世界的精神。第二項策略是 促進卓越研究，把重點領域的研究達到世 界水平。第三項策略是大學將持續在人 才、管治和設施上作出適切投資，例如推 行「人才 100 」計劃以建立雄厚實力。香港 浸會大學基金將會配合大學的策略發展， 全力拓闊大學網絡，例如成立青年企業家 委員會，集合各界力量，籌募更多的資 源，推動大學實現教育理想。
