18 University’s Recent Developments 大學最新發展 A team led by Professor Lyu Aiping and Professor Zhang Ge, Director and Associate Director respectively of the Law Sau Fai Institute for Advancing Translational Medicine in Bone & Joint Diseases, conducted a life science study on China’s first cargo spacecraft, Tianzhou-1. The project investigated the effect of the “CKIP-1” gene on bone formation under microgravity conditions in space. HKBU is the only higher education institution outside the Mainland to conduct a research project on Tianzhou-1 . The study is expected to lead to the discovery of drugs to prevent or treat bone loss. 由「羅守輝骨與關節疾病轉化醫學研究所」所長呂愛平教授及副所 長張戈教授帶領的團隊，於中國首艘貨運飛船「天舟一號」上進行 太空生命科學實驗。浸大是唯一獲選參與「天舟一號」科學實驗的 大陸境外院校。該實驗研究在太空微重力環境中，「 CKIP-1 」基因對 成骨細胞分化的影響，以助開發藥物預防或治療骨質流失。 A team led by Professor Gary Wong from the Department of Chemistry, and Professor Mak Nai Ki from the Department of Biology announced the world’s first chemical compound that can detect EBV-infected cells in mice and simultaneously inhibit these tumour cells with an efficacy rate of above 90%. This discovery lays a good foundation for the development of therapeutics for diseases associated with EBV, including nasopharyngeal carcinoma, which is prevalent in Southern China. 由化學系黃嘉良教授和生物系麥乃岐教授領導的團隊全球首次研發 出一種新的化合物，不單能偵測小鼠腫瘤細胞核內的「人類皰疹病毒 第四型」（ EB 病毒），更可同步抑制腫瘤生長逾九成。新化合物有望 應用於 EB 病毒的標靶治療，包括華南地區發病感染率高的鼻咽癌。 Professor Flora Chiang from the Department of Management, and Dr. Henry Fock, Head of the Department of Marketing, won the “Best Paper Award” at the recent 50 th Academy of Marketing Conference held at the University of Hull in the UK. Their co-authored paper entitled “The Influence and Rewards and Shared Vision on Customer-Oriented Behaviour and Service Quality” won in the category of track services and customer relationship management. 管理學系蔣鳳桐教授與市場學系系主任霍廣賢博士合著、題為 「 The Influence and Rewards and Shared Vision on Customer- Oriented Behaviour and Service Quality 」的論文，最近在英國赫爾 大學舉行的第 50 屆 Academy of Marketing 會議上，獲選為服務與客 戶關係管理組別的最佳論文。 Dr. Kevin Lo, Assistant Professor of the Department of Geography, won “The Regional Studies Association Award for Best Conference Paper” in the Early Career Category at the RSA Australasia Conference 2017. His paper entitled “Poverty Alleviation Resettlement and Spatio-Economic Restructuring in Rural China” critically examines the effectiveness of China’s resettlement initiative in lifting people out of poverty. 地理系助理教授盧笛聲博士憑其論文「中國農村扶貧移民的經 濟空間轉型」，獲區域研究協會 2017 年大洋洲學術年會頒發最佳 論文獎（青年學者類別）。該論文全面檢視了中國的農村扶貧移民 政策對協助人民脫貧的成效。 Innovative Research 創新研究
